Sewing 302: Modern Quilts
6 weeks, Tuesday (and one Wednesday) 7:00-9:00 pm
February 7-March 6 & March 21
For intermediate students age 15 and up; prerequisite 100- or 200-level class, private lessons, or equivalent experience. Make a simple, modern quilt to showcase beautiful fabrics. We will cover a variety of topics and techniques, including rotary cutting; piecing quilt top, borders, backing, and binding; assembling layers; machine-quilting; and applying binding. Please be prepared to do additional sewing at home each week in order to complete your project by the end of the class and to further your independent sewing skills. Students provide their own materials and patterns. Recommended designs include: Chinese Coin, Nickel; or from Moda: Boxed In, Random Reflections, Welcome Spring, Layer Cake Throw, or similar. $158

Bring your own non-stretch home-decorating-weight fabrics, pillow forms, and notions. We will create our own patterns.
